We are called and chosen in Christ and it is our joy to remain faithful to Him no matter what. Some, however, prove that their faith was never genuine when they fall away from Christ after tribulation comes, and are ashamed of Him. Paul gives us a real example of apostates here, as well as an example of a true faithful Believer.
